Zoo Ost Workshops
These are always very popular and provide excellent hands on as well as observational experience of a kind that no tour operator could hope to match, at a fraction of the cost. From subjects such as canine treatment, equine work, through to the truly unique wildlife based ones they are very often a once in a lifetime trip, although many people find that once is never enough.
This involved working with injured native wild species such as the European Eagle Owl, Peregrine Falcon, and Spur Thigh Tortoise to name but a few. All set against the backdrop of some of the best archaeological remains in the world. This was a 3 day event.
Set in the Nairobi National Park and Tsavo East this workshop concentrated on treatment aspects to help orphaned Elephant and Black Rhino calves, as well as looking at the Rothschild Giraffe breeding station. This trip really opened people's minds as to how much we can all help as part of a broader conservation team. This trip covered 8 days.
This was a specially tailored equine workshop covering the more unusual functional, non pathological, problems that can lead to a situation becoming chronic and non responsive to normal veterinary treatment. This was an intensive 3 day course for post graduates.
Set in the most northern tip of The Golden Triangle, and bordered by Burma and Laos this group was immersed in Asian Elephant culture whilst getting a chance to experience hands on osteopathy with real case studies. Delegates got to follow cases through and changes were monitored both by "Zoo Ost" and "Think Elephants International." This workshop covered 5 days.
This provided one on one mentoring for canine treatment. Where there is no other form of "in house training" available Zoo Ost provide bespoke tutoring and mentoring for interested parties, followed up by e-mail and skype tuition. This was a flying 2 day special.
